The store experience needed to travel beyond Whakatipu
Te Atamira supports arts and culture in the Whakatipu region. Its physical store brings local products into the visitor experience, but the opportunity did not need to end when people left the space. An online store could connect those products with customers across New Zealand. To be useful, it also had to work cleanly with retail activity inside Te Atamira.

Extending a local arts experience nationwide
Extend the gallery experience into ecommerce
Te Atamira’s Shopify store feels like a natural continuation of its existing arts website. A connected experience lets customers discover Whakatipu-made products online without losing the character of the physical space.
Keep online and in-store stock aligned
Synchronised inventory protects the customer experience by keeping product availability accurate wherever a sale happens. It also gives the Te Atamira team a simpler view of stock across both channels.

Designing an ecommerce extension for Te Atamira
We designed the online shop to sit naturally alongside Te Atamira's existing digital presence. The interface carries the same visual character while giving products the space needed to be explored. Shopify provides a familiar and reliable foundation for product management. Customers can browse local goods from anywhere in New Zealand and complete purchases through a focused online journey.

Connecting online sales with the physical store
We implemented Shopify point of sale within the Te Atamira store and connected it directly with the ecommerce platform. Sales update the same inventory view whether they happen online or on the shop floor. The team can manage stock with greater confidence and avoid maintaining parallel records.
