Ko tātou katoa he wāhanga o te hāpori
Our commitment to supporting local causes, initiatives, and events has fostered a sense of pride and shared purpose within our team and beyond. We are dedicated to making a meaningful difference at every stage of life, from assisting startups to empowering youth to promoting health and aged care.
Continuing to support locally owned and operated Ōtepoti businesses in our great small city. We’ve put together a handy directory of Ōtepoti businesses that offer a range of goods and services. Every time you spend money locally, you're making a difference in our community, helping to create a stronger local economy and a healthier and more sustainable world.
Southern Youth Development (formerly The Malcam Charitable Trust) is an important initiative, and here at Firebrand we prioritise fostering youth development. Whether that be through the offering of Youth Internships or our ongoing relationship and support of Youth Employment Success. The rangatahi are our future and in order for that to continue being a focus within the Otago District.
A digital platform developed for the Ministry of Social Development to connect unemployed youth with local businesses for experience and employment opportunities. Youth Employment Success continues to grow from strength to strength. We love seeing our campaign evolve as more employers get on board and more youth take advantage of the opportunities on offer. Since 2016, an estimated 5,460 young people have engaged with the programme. We now have 74 youth friendly employers, providing over 800 employment-based opportunities to young people of all shapes and sizes.
Otago Community Hospice (OCH) provides care and support for people who are nearing the end of their life and their families, completely free of charge. This support happens wherever the individuals would like it, most of the time at their own homes.
Together, Firebrand and Business South forge a formidable partnership, fuelling a thriving and resilient business ecosystem throughout the Southern landscape.
