It's safe to say that the last 18 months have been difficult in more ways than one. The world is full of change, uncertainty and unpredictability and last week, Dunedin Venues hosted an epic Women You Can Bank On event to recognise how we can adapt, grow and thrive through that change. An event as substantial as this one certainly takes some planning, and we have had the privilege of working with Dunedin Venues to make it possible. Over the past year, the Firebrand team have created and developed the 2021 WYCBO branding whilst working closely with DVML to build an unforgettable event identity.
WYCBO was opened with a showstopping video produced by our videography team that featured some incredible and influential Kiwi women (including our one and only, Bex Twemlow). The opening video set the tone for the rest of the evening, and we were wowed by talks from deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson, Dunedin's own Sarah Ramsay and the infamous Raelene Castle.
The night's highlight was the key speaker panel, where we heard from significant women in the New Zealand sporting industry. Liz Dawson MNZM, Raewyn Lovett ONZM, Dr. Johanna Wood and Dr. Farah Palmer were guided through a series of thought-provoking questions by MC Rachel Smalley. We were wowed, educated, and inspired by how these women used the challenges they faced through their careers and transformed them into learning opportunities and personal growth.
Every aspect of the WYCBO event was EPIC, and we loved being a part of it!
