From August 30th to September 1st, Taua, our Development Director, embarked on a learning adventure into the world of Amazon Web Services (AWS). The "Architecting on AWS" online course, running from 9am to 5pm daily, focused on mastering the art of creating top-notch cloud systems on AWS.
Taua had the guidance of Ganesh Shankar, an experienced instructor based in Sydney. Together with 18 participants from across New Zealand, they worked through the course modules.
The course aimed to provide a solid foundation for building strong cloud architectures. It covered crucial topics including: Well-Architected Framework, Scalability, High Availability, Security, Cost Optimisation, Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Serverless Computing, Data Storage and Analytics, Content Delivery and CDN, Monitoring and Logging, Disaster Recovery, Compliance and Governance.
The course was broken down into modules that involved lectures and lab work. The lectures were informative and a highlight was when Ganesh would use real-life scenarios to describe a topic.
