The government has allocated new funding to a new Business Advisory Support, Advice Implementation Grant, and initiatives for the Tourism Communities.
This funding initiative has a strong focus on Support, Recovery and Re-set in our most affected regions.
The business funding initiatives target tourism businesses in the 5 communities most affected by the loss of international tourism:
Queenstown Lakes District
Southland District
Kaikōura District
Mackenzie District
Westland District
The business initiatives are:
- Business Advisory Support (up to $5,000 per business operation) to enable businesses to receive expert advice and support, such as on changing target markets or scaling their business.
- Grants for businesses to implement business advice (up to $5,000 per business operation).
This is exciting stuff! To be able to action advice and ideas that came up during the COVID19 sessions into real things and outcomes with professionals is incredible for tourism businesses!
