As the plane took off from Dunedin bound for Auckland, the excitement Nicholas and I shared was enough to slingshot the plane right there and then across to the North Island. We were on our way to the 2024 Future State conference, an annual event held at Spark Arena. The event promised an engaging lineup of speakers, both local and international, each focusing on how technology and sustainability are revolutionising our industries.
The discussions at Future State were both enlightening and inspiring. Noelle Russell and Scott Galloway delved into the complexities of Artificial Intelligence—its immense potential and the ethical considerations it necessitates. Ethan Eismann advocated for effective productivity within workplaces, promoting a balanced approach to professional demands. Damon Gameau’s discourse on using technology for environmental sustainability highlighted the narrative power we hold in shaping a greener future. Additionally, a panel of kiwis featuring Jayden Klnica, Sara Smeath and Rachel Brown and provided a fascinating dive into sustainable growth and the circular economy within Aotearoa.
It’s safe to say by the end of the conference, our cups were overflowing with ideas and future opportunities, dare I say it… dream big!
A hearty thanks to Spark Business Lower South Hub for enabling us to participate in this exceptional gathering of minds. Equally, the opportunity to interact with the speakers at the end will leave an unforgettable afterglow. Chur!
