Working from home is different for a whole lot of reasons. Not just because every meeting is replaced with faces on screen but now we have the addition of our children in the work place.
This is a weird time for everyone and we are all thrown out of our comfort zone by the uncertainty of the situation. Personally, I fall into the trap of wanting to achieve something each day and be productive but I'm guilty of pushing my exceptions onto the children and that's not fair.
As a parent, we can get tunnel vision and think that without school the children should be working on school work at home but I think this is the perfect time for Homework.
And my Homework means, helping cook, baking, washing, dishes, animal care and yard work. So, they know what it takes to run the household they are in and appreciate Homework and the team work required to make everything run smoothly.
If I can hide some of my anxiety and turn that energy into being the good time Dad, my hope is that when we emerge from lock-down, if Mason and Tayla are asked to explain their time at home, they will say, "It was Fun."
