The New Zealand summerfruit industry has the goal of being a $465 million industry by 2035. This target includes a six-fold increase in apricot production to a value of $69 million, primarily through the establishment of an export market in Asia. New Zealand horticultural specialist Hortinvest and Ardgour Station have established a limited partnership to produce this new bred of apricots and cherries for export in early 2023.

“These new apricots were bred for New Zealand growing conditions. It’s an opportunity to produce an outstanding flavoured fruit – it’s what a true apricot should be.” – Sharon kirk

Firebrand were excited to partner yet again with Hortinvest on another brand following our previous work together on Deep Creek Fruits. The new Ardgour Valley Orchards brand needed to be designed in a way that would appeal to an international market, and sell the 'New Zealand made' story. The colour palette was inspired by the sweet, flavoursome and bright apricots with a gradient of sunny yellow to red. Supported by a rounded, abstract shape of an apricot which is also representative of the sun, the hills and the koru - meaning new life.
