Luke Calder Creates Custom Globe For Murray Hughes Retirement

On Saturday 22nd of May, The Aotea Group held their 11th Annual Conference & AGM in Queenstown. A key part of the evening was recognising the significant contributions, the founder of the modern Aotea Group, Murray Hughes, has made to the business.

Firebrand were given the task of finding a gift of appreciation and acknowledgment for Murray's contributions to Aotea group over the last 30 years. The team engaged Dunedin based, Luke Calder, Globemaker to create a bespoke gilded copper globe of New Zealand with a supporting Aotea koru.

Paul Parsons proudly presented Murray with a custom made piece of artwork at the AGM with the following feedback:

"Murray’s gift was really well received by Murray and by everyone present and really hit the mark. Murray and his wife Jen have picked out the perfect spot to hang it. It is a fantastic reminder of Murray’s Aotea life, vision and contribution and its awesome that they have both been able to see that vision realised."
