What an incredible year for Youth Employment Success! We now have 90 Dunedin businesses on board - certified YES youth-friendly employers, offering over 750 unique opportunities to young local job seekers. Over 100 Dunedin Youth aged between 16 and 24 have stepped up and taken advantage of these incredibly valuable opportunities and local Brilliant companies! Thank you.
A major highlight of this year’s implementation has been our Open Sessions. Open to all local job seekers aged 16-24; these include an industry presentation, business walkthrough, and a Q&A session.
As huge supporters for Youth employment in Dunedin, McDonald’s George Street have been running an Open Session each month.
The monthly Open Sessions with McDonald’s have given local youth new insight into the industry, and have showcased just how valuable a career with McDonald’s can be for a young person’s future. We have held two Open Sessions with McDonald’s so far, with several attendees gaining employment with the franchise. Our next session is scheduled for February; this will fill up fast so register to secure a spot here!
A massive shout out and thank you to all of our incredible employers and the Youth that we have engaged with through our employment-based opportunities this year. It has been fantastic to be a part of creating such positive outcomes for young job seekers in Dunedin.
