Formally known as Sexy Summer Jobs (little known fact - renaming kudos belongs to the dynamic combo of Bex who suggested JobsDun and George from Cloud Cannon dropping that pesky letter s).
The Dunedin City Council backed program having run for over 10 years has attracted 131 businesses from a wide range of sectors, providing over 388 internships that have resulted in over 270 employment positions. It provides students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience with innovative Dunedin businesses.
Due to Covid-19, the programme had to adapt in 2020 accommodating the tool that we have grown to love or hate, Zoom as a way to conduct the interviews. And it worked out pretty darn well.
We are proud for what has been achieved in the last 5 years, and look forward to our new Intern starting soon.
