Summer Break

Jay Phillips

Well, the summer break was the same as it is every year - short and sweet.

Although we may not have soaked up quite as much sun as we would have liked during our Dunedin summer the Firebrand family managed to make the most of the magical golden rays that we did find.

A clever few though went sun seeking with Bex, Paul and the Twem Clan heading away to their regular holiday hangout in Otematata, later joined by George, Alex and little Indie after their family trip to Twizel and Lynda headed deep into the canterbury backcountry to rope some cattle on her trusty stead Riley

Emma and Hayden hopped the ditch and got familiar with the sand and surf shortly followed by Taryn and Nick who were heading back to visit family in Beerwah. Jonas found his way back to the Mount and of course, hit the waves and Taua and his boys made the journey back to Rarotonga to be with loved ones.

Those of us that stayed closer to home, made the most of the odd day of sunshine and the not so sunny days with good food, friends, family & fur babies. Louis, Elly, Marc & Lily managed to catch up for a meal and beverage or two and for Marc and Lily it was their first Christmas together as a married couple (here's to many more!) Jay and family got to meet the newest and cutest member of their extended family, little Paddy and enjoyed some overdue family time and started on their latest DIY project.

And last but not least our resident traveller Katy found herself in another far off land, this time perusing the many streets and Markets in Hong kong seeking out all things design and giving us all a touch of FOMO.
