The Clutha is undoubtably a beautiful and diverse area, experientially rich with welcoming locals, it's one of those places that has that 'special something' about it. Previously the region's tourism and promotions were grouped in with the surrounding areas before forming their very own regional tourism operation 'Destination Clutha'.
With an amazing offering including jet boating on the Clutha River to twilight tours watching rare yellow eyed penguins what was missing were the online channels and marketing materials to let everyone know why they should visit and explore the area. Bringing our creative skills to the table alongside our full service offering our aim was to create tools that would introduce and guide visitors through the area.
During the design brief stage we identified keywords that typified the region; undiscovered, safe, untouched, diverse, adventure, wild and captivating (among others). The site and associated collateral needed to incorporate these aspects into the design, look and feel.
All outputs needed to tell a compelling story showcasing the diverse and wonderful array of things to do and see.
The resulting website had a strong visual focus with stunning imagery enticing the user to explore. Clear navigational pathways show off the region and attractions while integrated Google Maps allows visitors to plot their route and suggest points of interest.
Alongside the web presence a new visitor guide was designed - ready to be distributed to 137 i-Sites and information centres throughout New Zealand. Replacing the seven different brochures that had been in circulation previously the new brochure is a comprehensive guide filled with great imagery ready to excite any traveller.
We recommend exploring the new site www.destinationclutha.com and discovering the amazing region anew !
