Rebecca Twemlow

You've most likely seen emoji's before, and now they're here to visit us on Hail!

Emoji's are a group of facial expressions (πŸ˜€πŸ˜‡πŸ˜±) that are a fun and easy way to represent emotions or ideas in the digital world. Often viewed as an amusing, quirky, or funny way to react to things, the emoji is a popular item in the social world.

Originating from Japanese mobile phones in 1999, emoji have skyrocketed into popularity and feature in many phones and online servers. The word emoji comes from the Japanese terms e (η΅΅, "picture") and moji (ζ–‡ε—, "character"). The influence of its Japanese origin is shown in the present day emoji list: πŸœ(ramen), πŸ‘ (dango), πŸ™ (riceball), 🍱 (bento) and lots more.

A huge number of emojis (2,685 in fact!) have been added to hail to help aid with your article creation. What a way to make it more interesting and engaging! Hail developer Ben has said that this has been his most challenging task that he has ever done! Taking him close to 6 months to complete - All for your enjoyment of coarse!

What's your favourite emoji? There's so many to choose from!
