This year as FoodShare's Creative Partner we've delivered a brand new website, created a marketing strategy, managed social media, devised and executed marketing campaigns and delivered a huge array of design work, all pro-bono.
It's been a fantastic partnership and we've loved working alongside Deborah and Pip to help grow the profile of FoodShare and share the stories of the incredible work they are doing in our community.
As a social venture FoodShare relies on the support of both individuals as well as corporates to be able to continue to grow, rescue more food and get it delivered to social service agencies to distribute to those who really need it. One of the amazing ways that businesses can get involved is to participate in a 'Cooking for a Cause'.
Cooking for a Cause is a corporate volunteering activity for companies looking for a team building activity with soul and purpose. It's a totally unique experience. The business makes a donation to undertake the activity and then their team (and even your clients if you'd like) join the FoodShare team in a commercial kitchen to cook meals for those in need. No special cooking skills are required and the FoodShare volunteers guide you every step of the way.
Keen to experience this for ourselves Firebrand got involved and went along to bake shortbread and christmas cakes for Age Concern Otago to brighten Christmas for elderly in need. Check out the photos and the video taken on the day to get a taste of what it was like.
