Mission Commander Lynda ensures Firebrand not only grows but that our team is happy and performing at their best. Think all things business and people-centric - customer and user experience, design thinking practices, creative leadership and workshop coaching, strategy, health and safety, QA, account and project management, operation and process improvement.
Lynda has an enormous amount of experience within the creative industry. She was pivotal in delivering the new Farra experience and previously she managed and grew WorkSpace at Otago Polytechnic, delivering commercial product and communication design and digital outputs for OP and many other NZ polytechnics along with Landcare, Otago Museum and Oritain. During this time she mentored and coached many young designers and supported entrepreneurs and SMEs through their product and brand development, storytelling and take-to-market strategy using design thinking, alongside Better by Design coach Eva Gluyas and Peter Roband.
Lynda's 25+ year career has seen her in a wide range of roles in business development, creative direction, product development, communication design, advertising, sign-making and interactive spatial experiences. She is passionate about strategy and storytelling for business, as well as creating and connecting our young designers with career and learning opportunities.
Outside of the office, Lynda's time is mostly occupied by one thing and that's horses, horses and horses. As a keen western rider and natural horsewoman, Lynda is often away during weekends at western shows or training for them, in high country learning and putting her horsemanship and stockmanship to the test at ranch and cow working clinics. With over 35 years of experience riding horses, Lynda has won a trophy or two and credits her horses as the champions! At home Lynda shares a lifestyle block with her partner Richard and is surrounded by his three Australian kelpies and a little dog that thinks he's one.
